Chaima Rabhi earns first place at UW-Green Bay WiSys Quick Pitch competition

Green Bay-Chaima Rabhi and Narisara Srichantraphan were recognized for their research at the WiSys Quick Pitch competition at UW-Green Bay on Wednesday, April 24.
Chaima Rabhi, a senior, won the competition with their pitch, titled “Shakey Lakes Stream Biomonitoring: How to Refine it?” In their pitch, Rabhi shared that aquatic invertebrates are frequently used for biomonitoring due to their differing sensitivities to chemical pollution and physical disturbances. Rabhi’s research looked at the Shakey Lakes Stream and learned how to refine the sampling and collection methods that had been established previously.
Rabhi’s faculty advisor is Jessica Warwick, a lecturer in biological sciences. With their first-place victory, Rabhi will have the opportunity to present to a statewide audience at the WiSys Quick Pitch State Final. The competition will be held during the WiSys SPARK Symposium this July on the UW-Superior campus.
Graduate student Narisara Srichantraphan earned both second place and the audience-voted people’s choice award with their pitch, titled “Situated Learning with Pedagogical Agents in VLE to Enhance Public Speaking Skills for Undergraduate Students.” Srichantraphan’s pitch explored critical success in speech improvement practice in virtual learning environments.
Srichantraphan’s faculty advisor is Dr. Andria Moon, an associate professor in education.
